Job Description

As an Associate Engineer at Harman, your key responsibilities will include:

Software and driver development for peripherals, controllers, and services on complex SOC systems (ARM/Intel/QC-based).
Participating in design, development, troubleshooting, and delivery of high-quality embedded products.
Analyzing and enhancing existing embedded software by adding features or fixing bugs.
Board bring-up activities, BSP porting, and writing resource managers for Android or other platforms.
Understanding customer specifications and system architecture to develop effective software solutions.
Developing unit tests for new code, fixing issues, and verifying fixes for delivered components.

Qualifications and Skills

To be successful in the Associate Engineer role, you should have:

A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
Strong C and C++ programming skills for embedded systems.
Knowledge of ARM/Intel/QC 32/64 Architectures and SOC systems.
Device driver experience with communication protocols like SPI, I2C, RS-232, USB, etc.
Experience with memory management, DMA subsystems, and interrupts handling.
Knowledge of Android/Linux/RTOS and object-oriented design principles.
Understanding of multi-core hardware, operating systems, and real-time embedded systems.
Exposure to audio processing algorithms is a plus.
Knowledge of software development processes like CMMI or ASPICE is preferred.

Additional Skills (Nice to Have)

Understanding of Android/Linux device drivers, HAL layers, and Android framework.
Experience with UML diagrams and tools like Gerrit/GIT, Bamboo, Bitbucket, JIRA.
Familiarity with agile development environments.
