Roles and Responsibilities

As a Software Engineer at GE Digital, you will:

• Collaborate with system engineers, frontend developers, and software developers to implement solutions aligned with shared platforms.
• Apply SDLC methodologies such as Lean/Agile/XP, CI, security, scalability, and refactoring techniques.
• Write code that meets standards and delivers the desired functionality.
• Build features like web services and work on queries in existing tables.
• Understand and assess application performance metrics.
• Work on core data structures and algorithms, implementing them using the language of your choice.

Education Qualification

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or STEM Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) is required.
• This role is open to recent graduates with basic experience.

Technical Expertise

To be successful in this role, you should have experience in:

• Front-end technologies: JavaScript, HTML5, CSS, AngularJS, BackboneJS, EmberJS, KnockoutJS.
• Database tools: JPA, Hibernate, JDBC, Spring Data.
• Rules engines: Camel, Drools, JRules.
• Build tools: Gradle, Maven and version control systems like Git, SVN.
• Knowledge of Lean/Agile/XP methodologies and continuous integration (CI) processes.
• Strong understanding of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and AngularJS.
• Experience with Material Design is a plus.

Desired Characteristics

• Prior experience in an agile environment or formal training on Lean/Agile practices.
• Ability to work in a collaborative and fast-paced environment.
• General understanding of the software development life cycle and the impact of technology choices.
